It seems the only silver lining to the horrible ice storm we got along the east coast this year were the good photo ops. I posted a few on www.boardsanddecks.com but I wanted to share one of the more creative ones here on Samurart.

This was an old barn I saw while driving around but I photoshopped it heavily. The results are, well… see for yourself.

I know I haven’t posted anything in awhile but I want to change that. I have been busy with other things in my life, as well as Boards and Decks. So to start things off, I wanted to post an image of my daughter Kaylee from last December. Right now its raining and miserable out.. its good to look back at what December should be like.

Samurart has been pleasantly featured on CSS.We Are The Buzz, A new site dedicated to showcasing the hottest styles on the web. It may be hard to find the link because they seem to be getting flooded with new sites everyday. There is some amazing work on there, great inspiration.

BoardsandDecks.com is my new project with help of good friend Shane Rule (whats up Shane!). It will..eventually.. function as a great resource for all things snowboarding and skateboarding. We are still in process of getting most of the main functioning down, but you can see the direction we are moving in. It’s going to be big I tell you, BIG! That is, if I can find the time to work on it lately. Although it is just a baby right now, feel free to visit it and leave some suggestions.

With web 2.0 being all the craze these days, its not surprising that someone came along and developed an online generator of snazzy badges that loudly speak the 2.0 language. FreshBadge.com did just that.

The user friendly interface and numerous customization options is what really sets them apart from the crowd. It took me 1 minute to create my badge here to the left, with a page curl and all. Jumping on the bandwagon has never been so easy!

The word around Internet Lane is that GoDaddy is a great choice for Hosting, and well, I have to agree. I have yet to run into any major problems with them and I have had two different hosting packages with a number of domains.

The biggest problem that I have encountered with them is advertising clutter. Their homepage is a nest of advertisements trying to sell you everything in a hand basket. My first encounter with them years ago was a bit frightening. I wanted to order my first domain name, and being an amateur to hosting I was nervous if I was taking the right path.
